Letters to Snorkel Bob
>> 1 2 3

Dear Snorkel Bob,
I thoroughly enjoied listening to your tape about "The Road To Hana" in February. We stopped at the places that you suggested along the road and took your advise on not going to Haleakala and sleeping in instead. We rented our equiptment for snorkeling at your rental place in Maui. My brother is now doing a report on the Hawaiian Islands. We were reminded of how you did such a great job on your tape and my brother is going to act like he is you when he presents his visual display on Hawaii. I hope that someday we will come back to Maui because we loved it so much (especially the snorkeling).
Sincerely, Annie P.
P.S. My home is in the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

Now back from my first visit to Hawaii (our honeymoon), I can reflect.
Facing the mind-numbing choices of all there was to do on the islands we visited, we made some good choices and some less than good.

I would tell anyone though, that the products and services we received at Snorkel Bob's were of good quality and were priced fairly. Your people were helpful and knowledgeable. Even more important, when things didn't work out as planned, they treated us fairly.

My experience confirms your advertisements, "Snorkel Bob (and his people) really do care." I think other visitors to Hawaii would be well-served by going to Snorkel Bob's instead of testing their luck with other providers of entertainment services.

You definitely took good care of me and my wife!

We're planning our 4th trip to Hawaii for June, I just found your web page, reserved my gear and now I'm at work laughing while I cruise the rest of your site. Every trip to the Islands has included renting gear from you and laughing while I read your stuff. I really appreciate your help and your funnies. Just want to say thank you.

Dear Snorkel Bob,
i've just finished your 2nd book (Ice King) and wanted to let you know how much i appreciate the fantabulous bargain of reading your prose has been, 4 for however-much-it-was, 25 bucks, even after perusing only half the bargain so far.

i've been a fan of you, Snorkel Bob, since i first set foot in Kona with the now-ex-wife on our now-ex-honeymoon in 1990, and was as thrilled to find real Snorkel Books as i was to find Snorkel Bob's best damn gear in Hawaii in the parking lot of the now-ex-Kona Hilton back then.

Your stuff, and your gear, and the hilarity mixed with truth in your ads way back then made that trip for us. And now, years later, I, the blubbering land-lubber who until recently knew nothing of the intricacies of sailing and the methodology of fiberglass hull repair, discover the true inspiration for Matt Roving's name! I laughed my ass off till i cried.

So thanks again for years of fun. And one final question - is there a chance that you, Snorkel Bob, might be finding time amidst the demands of business, merchandising, snorkel research, basking in the sun, teaching various domestic animals to dive, and just getting down with your little fish buddies, to actually write more more more?

Eager fans are thirsting. And I'm halfway through my ration. While I surely can and will re-read your stuff again and again, i need more truth, more fun, more new adventure, more snorkel laughs.

I promise I'll buy 'em. I'll even buy extras to give to as-yet-non-snorkeling friends. As i plan to with the first four.

'Kay, thats enough rambling. Seeya in Kona. And thanks again.

daniel h., now-ex-new england yankee in California

I plan on visiting Kauai from Feb. 7 - 14 and am wondering where the best place to snorkel is during that time.  Also, what will the water temp. be around that time.  I rented your equipment and used the sites you told me before and had a great time.  I will see you in Feb.---Please include the water temp so I know if I'll need a wet suit.   Thanks! Andy

First heard about you in the October "Computer User" newspaper. Lost it, found it again today while preparing newspapers for recycling. Scuba in Hawaii isn't in my budget, but the graphics are neat (diving in a Tux? Is that why they call it a Penguin suit?) and I'll pass it along to more well-heeled friends. Yours, Rich

Hi Snorkel Bob,
We are coming back to Hawaii for more snokeling. As usual we will be stopping into your store and pick up a pair of prescription goggles for my blurry eyed spouse, as well as some information about snorkeling around KONA because this will be our first time to the big isle.

However, Marla got really cold the last time we were in Hawaii, so we were wondering where to pick up a wet suit for her. Can you all help out with some information about renting something for her to keep warm in?

Thanks
Blake H.

Aloha Snorkel Bob,
Just wanted to let you know we had a great time on Maui. Both my wife and I snorkeled 4 days in a row! It was fantastic, and your equipment was great too!

We will certainly use your services again when we visit Hawaii.

Happy Holidays, Dave & Judy

Hey, Great web site! Great philosophy!
I am going to Kentucy Lake for vacation. My wife and I love swimmin in the lake an snooping around the the critters on the bottom. After several trips, with only crappy sportmart masks, we have decided to purchase some cooler stuff. I need some recomendations for the most cost effective means of scootin around the lake and being able to see where we are going!

Mike C.

Hello Snorkel Bob!
Your website is great!
We're planning to arrive in Maui next Tuesday (8/12) and spend a week. We're going to look up shoe sizes, etc... to reserve equipment tomorrow(in advance on the web).

In the meantime, there are 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children (8,11,14). Where would you recommend to take the group snorkeling? Is there anywhere particularly nice that's not as crowded as other places...even if a long drive? We're staying at the Embassy Suites in Kaanapali.

Thanks. See you in Maui.
Mike K.

Snorkel Bob,
We have visited Hawaii many times and each time have rented our gear from you. Unfortunately, the folks on the other coast (Florida) are not so enlightened as you, Snorkel Bob, and do not have RX masks available.

We are looking to you, Snorkel Bob, to help us out. We need a RX mask for an upcoming cruise and were wondering if you have any used RX masks available and the prices. Also, what is the new price of such a mask? Our cruise is in May, so your prompt reply would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Snorkel Bob, for being our aquaeous guru of all things snorkel. Sincerely, Diane

Dear Snorkel Bob (in Kauai, that is),
I read your very fine home page in its entirity today (Mar. 20) and will be leaving California Mar. 23 for a trip of one week. I can't wait. Please reserve me one of those very fine specials that includes a Snorkel Bob book, an underwater camera, okay?

My name is Paul and I am balding and blonde and wear glasses and am almost 40 years old, but don't tell anyone else. I hope you folks in Lihue get this message. I can't wait to see you.

Aloha,
Paul

Howdy Mr. Snorkel Bob:
I was positive that you would have a web site, and I wasn't disappointed.

I am bringing my two kids to Hawaii in June, and would like to snorkel with them. They both swim well, but are nervous about snorkeling "in the ocean."

Do you have any special equipment (such as waterski vests) that you also rent that could help my kids??

If you don't, I'll have to bring their own (and who wants to pack something like that?)

Thanks, Rick
