To
all Snorkel Bob Staff and to Snorkel Bobbers Worldwide,
The International
Whaling Council convened in London on July 23. On the Agenda was
a vote for the Revised Management Plan to revoke the 1986 International
ban on whaling. Japan has spent millions in six Eastern Caribbean Nations,
buying votes. Every nations vote is equal. Japan appeared to have
the votes. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society dispatched the enforcement
vessel Ocean Warrior to St. Lucia from Miami so this otherwise hidden
issue could be ventilated, so the world could see
that another little slip would allow the Japanese Imperialist Fisheries
to render all the oceans of the world like their own, which is dead.
Snorkel Bob Brand,
Inc. underwrote that segment of the
expedition to document for the first time ever the seafaring efforts
of Sea Shepherd, the Ocean Warrior, Captain Paul Watson and First Mate
Peter Brown.
I, Snorkel Bob,
went along, solely motivated to physical participation by sheer, raw
anger at the continuing carnage. Motivation for me is not based on the
next generation; Ive given them The Compleat Kid System.
Now theyre on their own. Snorkel Bob corporate resources here
applied, represent a dire need right now to defend a few close, personal
friends, gill breathers of garish color and profound innocence. The
number of mammalian friends and associates expressing concern for my
safe return came as a surprise. What? Sea Shepherds slogan is
Sailing Into Harms Way, but the Society has a 20-year record of
no injuries or deaths. Yet these frequent expressions made me realize
that danger is perceived.
A number of professionally
successful people also confided that they too have pondered such a pilgrimage
on similar motivation.

"Sea
Shepherd hunts outlaw whalers,
sealers and fish poachers
from the Arctic to the tropics. We work in clear water, black water, rough
and polluted water. We get shot at, run down and depth-charged. We need
a mask we can bet our lives on. We often call ourselves Neptune's Navy,
and we always use The Seamo because it's
the only bet we care to make."
